@cher_tine: As a 39-year-old DepEd teacher, if a young teacher asked me for advice, I wouldn't tell them to rush into teaching. I'd encourage them to explore other opportunities first, travel, work abroad, gain life experiences, or discover different career paths. Teaching will always be here. But if you enter DepEd at a very young age, you may quickly find yourself overwhelmed by the workload and responsibilities. You could spend your youth focused on deadlines, paperwork, and shaping the lives of others before you've had the chance to fully experience your own. After years of giving your best, you may one day wake up feeling exhausted, not because you don't love teaching, but because you've poured so much of yourself into the profession. This isn't meant to discourage anyone from becoming a teacher. It's simply a reminder that there's nothing wrong with exploring the world, growing as a person, and living a little before committing to a lifelong career of serving others. When you do choose teaching, you'll bring not only knowledge but also the wisdom and experiences that make you an even better educator.

This is accurate. I started teaching at 22, entered deped at 25 then fast forward, im 35 and 10 years na sa deped with a goal na tapusin na lang ang 15 years sa service then resign na. I was once a dreamer and visionary that cared so much about deped pero naubos ako. I realized na while i am busy molding the next generation, I failed to mold myself. I failed to experience what life really is outside deped. So ngayon I am exploring and developing my portfolio that will prepare me outside deped.
Dont rush things. Live life. Dont be fooled by "permanent and stable job that deped offers" because nothing is permanent and stability only happens when one experiences what life really is.

Exactly what I did. Graduated 2019. Started working at the age of 22. Year 2022, I decided and took LET. By God’s grace, I passed (first take, self-review while continuing to work). Decided to work abroad a year later where I had the privilege to explore and travel to the neighboring countries. Completed my 2-year contract, went home, and now waiting for my deployment as a DepEd teacher.
I’m now 28 years old. No regrets. Lots of fun and memories. Life is still good. 😊

Got hired sa DepEd ngayong taon. I am 25 at the moment, pero mukhang hindi na ako tatagal. Planning not to stay, wala pang isang taon pero yung pagod ko parang 10 years na.

Teacher, thank you for this. I'm feeling overwhelmed because I don't know whether I should apply to DepEd or pursue a teaching job abroad. I'm afraid I won't be able to land a position in either one because I don't have any teaching experience yet. I also feel like I'm getting older and moving too slowly, even though I'm only 26. I'm afraid the opportunities will become fewer as I get older, and I'm scared of getting stuck in the job I have now.

Truth!! 😏 I entered DepEd at the age of 19. Now, I’m 37.
After 18 years of service, I just realized how much the system has changed. Looking back, I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if I had explored other opportunities before settling into one path.
But I don’t have any regrets, I will always be grateful for the experience, the lessons, and the people I met along the way. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: never stop growing, never stop exploring, and never be afraid to pursue new opportunities.
Sometimes, it’s not too late to start over and chase a different dream. ❤️

True! I entered DepEd when I'm 23 but in my case, I am grateful that it helped me financially to provide my siblings since I am the eldest. Now, we're already 9/10 professionals, isa na lang gragraduate next yr. & I am forever grateful that this profession molded my character... mapapagod pero di susuko... laban lang! 😘😘💪🙌

Now, I’m 25, 2 years graduated and 1 year ago got my license and now item secured na. I believe choosing DepEd as my fresh start in my career will lead me to so many opportunities and many dreams to come true❤️

This is my 2nd time in RQA, but sadly hindi padin makapasok sa DepEd. And now, I believe that God has a beautiful plan for me. Baka nga di ako para sa DepEd, dahil may mas maganda siyang plano para sa akin. Malay natin sa ibang country pala! 😇 God moves in mysterious ways nga diba! 😁

I salute you cher. I wish I had some one with me na nag advice rin sa akin ng ganito. Kaya lang I dont have the liberty to "explore myself" as the eldest daughter mananaig ang kagustuhan mo na makatulong na sa pamilya, and the key to that is to get a stable job. Which was that time DepEd yun. This is my 9th year in DepEd, there were a lot of times na pakiramdam ko nauubos na ako. Walang motivation na pumasok. Lalo ngayon napakatoxic ng environment ko. Kaya I admire people na nakayanan makawala sa DepEd. If only I have the freedom to take a risk, to explore and to be free. One day sana ako rin.

Same sentiments. Second year of teaching ko nasa DepEd na ako, bata pa nito. Never too late.

And I believe God really knows my heart. And He prepared something for me ahead different from what’s in my plan.

starting at deped when I was 22, I saved money for my simple needs and did some local and international travel too. I'm 39 now and I feel that life isn't that chaotic if you have a work-life balance.
