Amir :
The Amal movement is mistaken. The only way to guarantee the Lebanese sovereignty (not just temporarily but permanently) is to dispel the narrative about Arab people’s inclination towards violence (in the eyes of Israel’s western supporters and Israelis). By doing it this way (and succeeding), you will have permanently taken back your land by proving the Israel’s concerns of violence against them is false, and the Lebanese people (and Arab people as a whole) are capable of resolving disputes peacefully in a non-violent manner, showing that they are not less than anybody, and are equally as capable as anybody to either choose the diplomatic way or the violent way, whichever path is more strategic to getting them to their end goal (of sovereignty and peace). Currently, their militias have fought bravely, however the Lebanese president has been able to secure a better more effective, more dignified, legal route which has the backing of all of Europe, Russia, China, USA and everyone else behind them, as long as they do their part to guarantee the safety of Israelis (so that they don’t have an excuse), the World stands with Lebanon in getting their territory back. Additionally, Israel has repeatedly said that they will leave Lebanon (and Syria) once the “threat” to them is completely gone. I do believe (because of their political system) that they will uphold the issue, once it can be proven to them that they no longer need to fight (their nature isn’t to fight anyway). There will come a point in the future when Israel becomes a normal country and loses its dependency on USA and behaves just like any other country. We should want for them then what we want for ourselves, respect for the sovereignty and safety of all peoples, and a bright future for the children of the region (and of the world).
