احتضان أمي، وتقبيل يد أبي... كانا نعمتين كنت أعيشهُما، ولم أكن أدرك أن الإنسان قد يقضي بقية عمره يتمنى لحظةً منهما فلا ينالها. كم أشتاق إلى صوت أمي وهي تناديني، فأجيبها: هاي يا روحي يا يمّه، فتبتسم وترد: تسلم روحك يا روحي. كلماتٌ كانت تملأ قلبي طمأنينة، أما اليوم فأصبحت ذكرى تهزّ روحي كلما مرت بخاطري. ومنذ أن رحلا، أصبحت لي أمنية واحدة أرفعها إلى الله في كل دعاء: أن يجمعني بهما ولو في رؤيا صادقة، أرى فيها وجه أمي، وأقبّل فيها يد أبي، وأسمع صوتهما مرةً أخرى. وما زلت أنتظر... والله يعلم كم طال الانتظار. أمي يا روح روحي... وأبي يا قرة عيني، وسندي، وأماني... اشتاق إليكما بقدر رحمة الله الواسعة، وأسأل الله أن يجعل قبريكما روضةً من رياض الجنة، وأن يجمعني بكما في مستقر رحمته، حيث لا فراق بعده أبدًا. اللهم ارحم أبي وأمي رحمةً تليق بكرمك، واجعل شوقي إليهما سببًا للقائي بهما في جنات النعيم.
