Melchizidek isn’t that mysterious. He was a priest that served under the covenant made with mankind in the garden following the fall. His name was king of righteousness and he was from Salem, or peace, so technically he was “king of peace and righteousness” (semantically). Jesus was in the order of melchizidek in that he ministered under that earlier covenant, and he COULD be priest and king, which later covenants prohibited.
