@itsmrskelly: I do… All of us are way too hard on ourselves, and it ends up causing so many symptomatic issues. How we view ourselves is an important thing to learn to keep in check. I think it would be so much better with every part of my life if I just, viewed myself a little better. I feel like I carry so much unnecessary self-doubt, and chastising, and it ends up creating a border between me and well, everyone I guess. I don’t have to buy into the hurtful things that were said to me as a child, but they echo in my brain and market themselves constantly. It’s like being bombarded with the most specific ads… my brain knows all the things I’ve ever done wrong, all the trauma that hit me right where it counts. And it designs these daunting thoughts to try and convince me I’m less than I am. And then I realize it’s not in control of my life, and maybe if I can show it (myself) some kindness, good things might grow there. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
