It won’t lose the cold that fast. Unless they actually have terrible insulation, but they keep claiming they have amazing insulation

The whole “our homes are built to hold in hot air” is so funny. They’re acting as if their homes are specially engineered to search out and bring in hot air 😂 nah, we have insulation here too that’s the whole point of it so we can climate control our home.

Unsuspecting Fish :
If it only takes 15 minutes for the temp to go all the way back up, though, you have bad insulation.

Furthermore, you can’t flood your house with light then turn off the lamps and expect to keep the light in.

And in the winter, if they warm their houses and then stop, it won’t just stay warm indefinitely. What’s the confusion? It’s the same with heat and cold.

ACs don’t pump cold air in, they take the heat out of the air and pump the heat outside.

When the outside is trying to turn you into a baked good, you must keep the inside refrigerated. Plus it’s easier to keep your house cool than it is to let it get hot and then cool it. Keep the fans going, ac on.

alas, having to run the ac all the time is a sign of poor insulation and air-sealing, which is standard in america (though not quite as bad as the brits).

You turn the ac on during the day while you’re home and you open up windows at night and a fan of you have one. Is this not common knowledge?

Sarah Shanahan :
But if you live in the uk and ireland we don’t have AC so we don’t have the ability to pump cold air into our house!! We have bricks and mortar and insulation. You need to research the difference between thermal mass and warmth absorption and insulation!

I’m in Florida and last night at 2am it was insanely hot outside. If you turn off the ac it would be sweltering
