I was at Georgia tech in 1984 was a laser specialist we went to Stone mountain because we needed somewhere to project lasers we only had two colors and a 30 minute show with a 30 minute cooldown period of 500 gallons of helium and nitrogen look at it now. what you don't know is now underneath the green yard in front is now two stories deep with four laser colors projected from four different locations a thousand gallons of helium in 1,000 gallons of nitrogen and the world's largest projection setup I've been watching this for many years now and it just gets better.

Hadn’t been to Stone Mountain in a hot minute and I about ‘blew a gasket’ when we walked into the lawn (July 5th) and saw what looked like a totally scraped/de-faced sculpture on the side of the mountain…! A quick question to chat GPT set my mind back into the frame, when I learned how they visually disguise the sculpture, for the shows, using a technical production method called 3D projection mapping. I took a hi-res photo and then zoomed way in and I could then still see the details…😮💨 Then I could enjoy the show!!

the late '80s early '90s our biggest problem was trying to get mirrors to move fast enough to produce a image from a single laser. if you look at the old school laser show they were simple drawings and you can still see the stagger in the lasers I've been away from it for a long time now but I'm glad to see the improvements
