Bro REALLY Brought a Homemade Flamethrower... 😳🔥 UNION, Mo. – A Union, Missouri, man is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and another person with a makeshift flamethrower. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office’s probable cause statement, the attack happened on June 13 at a home in the 1200 block of Old County Farm Road. Investigators said Christopher M. Viehland entered the home, where his ex-girlfriend and another man were inside. Viehland was carrying a modified fire extinguisher containing gasoline and a flashlight. The device allegedly had the words “flame thrower” written on the side and a metal pipe had been taped to the end of the hose with a cloth stuffed inside. Investigators estimated the container was at least one-quarter full of gasoline. Viehland used the device to spray his ex-girlfriend and the surrounding area with gasoline before turning his attention to the other man. He then allegedly struck the man in the head with a flashlight, causing a laceration and bleeding from his ear. As the two men fought, investigators said the victim suffered additional cuts and scrapes, and was bitten on the stomach above the navel, leaving visible teeth marks. During the altercation, Viehland’s ex-girlfriend escaped the building and ran to a nearby business to call 911. Viehland fled before police arrived, but left the modified fire extinguisher behind. Despite its appearance, Becker said investigators have not determined whether the device was capable of functioning as a flamethrower. #truecrime #news
