My daughter and her two daughters just left after a 6 week staythis morning to go home to Texas. I’m in Canada. The entire morning has been cleaning up the beautiful chaos that they left. Its been full of tears and deep breaths. Every single thing you said resonates so deeply into my soul. But as you said, I have sadness now, but I’m so proud of the lives they have.

The loud house! All the debates, laughing, arguments, cheering while watching games, raging because you’re losing while playing with friends online, the knock knock knock on my bedroom door and whispering “hey mom can you talk?”, getting excited when the house got decorated for Christmas, etc, etc 🥺

I miss the midnight chats with my son. he'd come home from hanging out with friends or a date, I'd be in bed already but he would knock and i would open the door. he would sit at the foot of my bed and we would chat for hours. it was so comforting to me and I miss it soooo much.

Both of mine are college graduates… when they left, I cried EVERY DAY!!! I am so proud of them and the lives they are creating but I miss them so much!!! Hugs to all the moms!!!

I loved being a mom to our 2 kids, but I love being grandma to our 4 grandkids also. Our daughter asked her 5 yr old who was the first person you thought of this morning? He answered Gigi (me). ❤️that's the best complement I could ever get.
