I do think that ties should go to pens. The winner gets awarded 2 points, the loser still 1 for tying the match as usual. This makes it so every match there is 3 total points awarded instead of only 2 in the case of ties

I think the FIFA World Cup should have no rounds, and every national football team should automatically earn a place in the tournament. This would truly show who the best team in the world is because every country would have the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage, rather than being eliminated before the tournament even begins. Allowing every nation to participate would also give talented players from smaller or less developed footballing countries the chance to showcase their abilities to millions of fans around the world. Many gifted players never get the opportunity to play at a World Cup because their national team is not strong enough to qualify, despite their individual talent. A larger tournament could help these players earn recognition and even attract interest from top clubs. Another exciting aspect would be the possibility of unexpected underdog stories. Every World Cup produces surprises, but with every nation involved, there could be incredible runs from countries that no one expected to succeed. These stories would make the competition even more exciting and unpredictable, inspiring fans across the world. Finally, I believe this format would make football even more popular than it already is. Every country would have a team to support, creating greater excitement, increasing television audiences, and bringing more people together through the sport. While organising such a large tournament would be difficult, I think the opportunity to include every nation and discover new footballing talent would make it worthwhile.
