@vblacforever: this is me,picking all those pieces out when I first opened my sons ashes to transfer them in to a different urn.. it is most definitely my angel babies ashes. as the funeral director said in his own words "poorly processed remains" meaning the crematory did not properly process his ashes. it's neglect and emotionally damaging that I had to open my angel babies ashes like this.for all the people saying they are pieces of my baby, they are not.. he was also not put in a wooden box he was put in a cardboard box so the "sticks" wouldn't make sense. my baby's ashes were just not properly taken care of and I was left picking the pieces out. #ashes #childloss #stillborn #cremation #neglected
I'm sorry for your loss but not everything needs to be posted

Unfortunately cremation means you’re not going to get 100% of them back. At least 0.02% is someone else and/or other debris. It’s kind of inevitable unfortunately

This is completely normal. Also, why are we digging around in ashes? That is not normal.

This lady is going through a form of grief no one should ever have to go through. Have a little compassion and empathy atleast enough to scroll instead of being rude.

Its normal to find chunks and peices in a loved ones ashes. Its leftover from large bones - pelvis and femur. Bones are pulverized but not everything always gets crushed.
Those are still pieces of your loved one.

hey ... funeral arranger here. I am sorry for your loss, truly. Nothing makes it easier. I would like to point out, this is an extremely sensitive topic, and should be handled delicately, maybe not publicly. As for the black debris you are seeing in the cremains, it is likely bristles or burned bone fragments. The "cardboard" you are referring to is the industry standard, and 80% of cremations are done with them, they are called "Cremation Caskets", wood leaves charcoal, which is difficult to sift and process with cremains. The cardboard does not, and makes the procedure of separation easier. Bristles are normal, the cremains look how they should. Your funeral home is employed with humans- just like you. Who suffer loss- just like you. Know that we DO care and we do OUR jobs with care and respect for the deceased, along with their families. xo

You do whatever you need to do sweetheart, not a single person has any right to have an opinion or judge you. You’re still taking care of your son and there is nothing wrong with that.

I am a mortuary assistant. Whatever that is is likely from one of the several cremations performed that day. Unfortunately when you get remains there are a bunch of other people's bones mixed in too, just the way it works in the industry
