I can’t stand DP, I only have one monitor that supports it so I have to have a bunch of DP to HDMI converters to use my other monitors. And no, I’m not spending $500 on replacing all of my monitors just to use a special connector, that’s absurd.

I like that display port can do chaining. you can go from GPU to monitor. then monitor to monitor. or in some cases lapto usb c to monitor and display port from monitor to monitor. also way more options.

I used a display port on my Mac mini and it started having the screen streak up after a year. I had an HDMI cable handy so I switched them and everything was perfect. I don't get it.

HDMI 2.1 is better than DP 1.4 and I've never seen a monitor that doesn't support it.

my Samsung G60SF does 48Gbps over HDMI, with 32Gbps DP. Just check your monitors specs and your GPUs output specs (different GPU generations have different fastest ports - my 2080ti could do 8K60 only over USB-C with an active HDMI adapter) to determine the highest bandwidth port and use that.

Have you ever wondered why when they compare refresh rates and quality they use a picture that purposefully makes the lower refresh rate and lower quality look worse? Genuinely if they used a better picture you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference
