Does going in a bit dilated help decide what meds will be given to start the induction? My dr mentioned going in dilated can help a little and possibly speed up the process compared to your cervix being completely closed on arrival or does it still depend on how high the baby’s head is ect ?

Can induction take several hours or even days? My MIL advised us (without invitation) that she wants to be at the hospital for the entire time I'm in labor....🤦🏻♀️

I was induced with my first given Pitocin, started epidural, they broke my water was in labor around 20 hours pushed for 25 minutes and felt barley any pain the entire process. Worst part was being stitched back up. I am scheduled for my second induction in two weeks. I had the most amazing calm experience.

I got to the hospital on the 13th at 7pm and remember getting a Foley catheter inserted. Then on the 14th I remember getting pitocin then later that night I got the epidural and my son wasn’t here until the 15th at 1:58 AM (his due date). It wasn’t bad at all besides the pitocin contractions.

my induction took 62 hours start to finish.. they started me on Cytotec, moved to Cervidil, placed a Balloon, then we went to Pitocin. I was shocked to discover that my uterus wasn’t resting between contractions so they eventually stopped the Pitocin and I was pretty much fully dilated!! By the time I was pushing I told my mom to tell them to cut baby out of me, I was DONE. 😂

My induction is in 10 days! I’ll be 39 weeks 4 days. Nothing wrong I just can’t do 40 + weeks I’m tired 😩

Yup, my hospital started pitocin right away when I showed up. They didn’t break my water until 8 hours after the pitocin started. Delivered 4 hours after they broke my water.

I’m praying that this girl, if she stays in til her induction date anyways, will go smoothly and fast. With my first she broke my water 2 days before her due date, then didn’t make her appearance until like 9/10 pm the next night after I was talked into getting the epidural. It was a good thing in the end, she was 10 pounds and got stuck at her shoulders. This time around baby girl isn’t looking nearly as big as her sister, dr joked today she should just fall out 🤣 which I honestly hope is how it feels, I really want to do it with just laughing gas as my pain meds this time around.

I had my water broke at 8:15am and my son was born at 11:44 am. Only pushed for 20 minutes. Hopefully the next one is the same way

For me I went in and they had to give me the pill to soften my cervix then boom labor started with no Pitocin

Was sent to the hospital at 39 1/2 weeks and 2 cm dilated to be induced they started pitocin and I went from 2-10 cm in 3 hours and pushed for one and he was here. This was my first pregnancy
