@ash.georges: Year 2 of my favorite childhood tradition. Small towns are so special and you don’t always realize that until you’re away from the traditions and familiarity of one. My favorite thing to wake up to next to presents from Santa on Christmas morning, was a little flag in our yard on the 4th of July. Every house in town had one and I just loved seeing them lined up in the yards. The year we bought our own house, I remember running out even as an adult to see my first flag. It’s something that you probably just don’t understand if you didn’t grow up in Kerman. Last year, Joshua and I decided to start that tradition in our neighborhood on base. This year we continued it.
