@disabled_eliza: Lime bikes! 🚴 They could be an amazing toll if parked correctly so please just think of wheelchair users and other Disabled people when youre parking your bikes! #Access: Video description: Eliza a White fem wheelchair user is in front of lime bikes talking about all the pros and cons of the bikes! #Disabled #Wheelchair #LimeBikes
when I worked at a servo like once a month I would have to go move one of these bikes off the middle of the middle of the footpath so our regular in a wheelchair could actually use the pavement

people need to be more considerate, there's literally specific spots for lime bike parking or just bike parking generally and people just decide to park them where it's most inconvenient..

Remember to those physically able - if you see badly parked bikes, you can actually lift and move them without needing to hire them. They beep but it doesn't matter 💗

I seriously don’t get that, why people park those bikes in the middle of a pavement or anywhere else what’s an inconvenient place to park them.

in Manchester they have bike parking places that you have to leave them there so they can't be left in a bad way

the company that does my city's micromobility service recently updated their app to detect if you parked it blocking the sidewalk when you take the end of ride photo, which helps the issue

We have the same issue in Australia, thankfully councils are starting to get rid of them. These schemes don’t work without designated parking areas

Until you start suing them, nothing will happen. The disability discrimination laws are designed to require legal action for enforcement. Please, we have to start understanding that nothing will change until you sue them.

TFI has a similar thing and they always have designated places to park them (it's basically a tap on tap off thing for a leap card)

One day I wanted to get out of my building, and there was one just right in front of my door! I had to lift it to move it (and it began to beep loudly). Like, wtf

We have so many of these bikes and scooters all over Brisbane. It’s terrifying walking through the city with my Guide Dog. You can’t really hear them and thank goodness my sweet girl is a little legend and can navigate the ones left in the middle of the path.

Reader, if you see bike parked badly and are able to move it out of the way, do so! It might beep but it’s a big help!

we have geo fenced locations to drop them off. you cant end a trip outside them which solves this problem.city councils can mandate it.

people need to think more about how they use the pavement full stop, most pavements where I live couldn't accommodate motorised wheelchairs or someone with their service dog even without obstacles and barriers. super annoying in a world that already isn't built for all to enjoy

I loathe them. Completely extractive business model. Taking money out of the economy and pushing all the problems with their business model onto local councils.

And those of us who are mostly able but don’t use them can still move them out of the way if we notice them in a bad spot!

before I became a wheelchair user I used to ride my bike frequently, and I HATED how sidewalks were always weirdly crowded by people. either cars parked in someone's driveway, but also in the middle of the sidewalk too (which is technically illegal but it's never enforced), garbage in the sidewalk or drop curb, a bicycle in the sidewalk, mountains of dirt and therefore mud on the sidewalks form construction on a houses yard. even for able bodied people it's beyond annoying in many cases, and now that I use a wheelchair daily it is way more annoying, especially because I almost never have the strength to be able to attempt to move the things if that's my only route somewhere

yeahh it's so annoying like why do people not just move them over a tiny bit so they're next to the buildings instead of in everybody's way...
