@ihaveabook4that: I’ve seen so many people excited to celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday. A small part of me is too. The bigger part of me can’t help but focus on how so many people are excluded from the 250 years of “freedom” we are celebrating. We’ve come so far from 1776. I know my ancestors would be amazed. I think they’d also agree with me when I say we still have so far to go.

REBEL REBEL I know I’m probably gonna fuggg this caption up because let’s be honest, how can I even remotely pay tribute to David Bowie, often dubbed “The Chameleon of Rock” and what he has done for music, fashion, cinematography, literature and of course breaking the “rules” of gender and sexuality with his constant (androgynous) transformations of character with Ziggy Stardust being his most famous. The story goes that the spark that lit his ongoing burning creative fire was Elvis performing Hound Dog to which he and his cousin Kristina started “Dancing like possessed Elves” I hope you guys notice that after this fifth post in our ICON series you see how everything that happened in the past has a huge influence on the presence and that we, you and I, are part of the future by paying respect to those who paved the road to our creative freedom… Nowadays it’s hard to find an artist that isn’t somehow inspired by David Bowie as he was a pioneer not just to stand alone artists but to complete genres as he dabbled in almost every type of music, glamrock, punk, industrial, (plastic) soul, pop, new romantic, new wave, grunge and even hiphop.
