I don't think he stopped loving the boys it's about Driftmark no longer having an heir. Obviously his favorite was Lucerys and after his dead he assumed Joffrey would be lord of the tides now that Jace is dead Joffrey is the crowned prince and he favors his bastards over Baela and Rhaena.

Joffrey is the last "Velaryon" but he is meant to ascend the throne as a Targaryen meaning that Corlys has no heir, he's been fighting for Rhaenyra since the beginning lost his children his wife and his castle it makes sense that he would get pissed at being denied his request.
