That's absolutely awful and so unnecessary. A parent should be trying to figure out why they're child is struggling not poking fun at them. I really feel for you! Alongside this sort of berating I was also mocked for asking to be carried because I was tired. It wasn't until later life when I realised I had hEDS that it made sense, I was in pain and my legs felt like they were going to snap, it's exhausting walking around. My 10 year old is just like me and has hEDS, if she needs to she sits on my rollator and I push her, no questions asked. 💗

Oh my days, my parents were the same. I was boring, or mardy, or playing up. Actually there was too much noise, my head hurt, and no one was ever nice to me. I hope you heal and have brighter days now. 💗

My parents would film me too. It’s humiliating. My dad would change “moody Margaret” in the horrid Henry books to “Moody Maddy” and it would really upset me because I wasn’t moody I was in survival mode

oh man this is bringing back memories. was so often mocked and belittled by emotionally immature, uninformed adults. I hope if my parents had understood autism then, the way we do now, they would have been different. But these memories are hard to forgive. Hope you're doing better.
