Grrm isn’t finishing the books b/c he is too worried about what everyone thinks. Season 7 and 8 were bad not because of the outcome, but because the story was bad. Proof: Many cried because of the red wedding. But I know of no one who said it was unrealistic, clumsy, or not in line with the characters. It was good story telling. Grrm. Just finish the book

This is a pretty cynical take I think. It disregards the axiom "Be the change you want to see in the world.". Ned understood the cost of living his values but that it was the only way for his life to matter.
