I know it doesn’t look appealing BUT in this heat who cares…. Cover your windows with either black garbage bags or tin foil OR invest about $50 bucks in window tint (no lie it’s a pain in the ass to put on) which is what I did for all my windows and I can’t explain the difference!! It’s CRAZY how much cooler your house will be!!!

I wanted to take the chance to plug public libraries. I work in one and we’d love to have you come stay out of the heat by visiting us! I staffed mine this weekend and we gave out bottles of water. Public libraries often serve as cooling centers during heatwaves so always good to see if the one near you has extended hours.

If you put the outdoor portion of the ac unit under shade it doesn’t have to work quite so hard to cool. Just like a pop up canopy over it would help. Also they have dish soap pumps that would fit in that extra sink hole so you don’t have to pull the soap out every time you wash dishes, which takes away 2 steps in the dish washing process.
