@ghost_of_discoreaper: The EPA’s latest Water Quality in Ireland 2025 report highlights elevated nitrate concentrations in many Irish rivers and groundwater monitoring sites. As an engineer with over 30 years’ experience, part of my career involved working around municipal water treatment plants, industrial process systems and the bottled drinks industry. This video is not intended to suggest that Irish tap water is unsafe to drink. Instead, it’s an explanation of how conventional drinking water treatment works, what it was originally designed to remove, and why I personally chose to install a reverse osmosis (RO) system in my own home. Conventional treatment plants are exceptionally effective at removing suspended solids, bacteria and harmful microorganisms.
