if the warranty ended 9 days ago why does it need to be tested? it's not covered by the warranty. there's no discussion to be had. he has to by a new one.

The warranty is expired. He doesn’t even have to go any farther. He was trying to help him. If he was nicer he might have gotten a new battery anyway.

24 hours?? Nah. Are you using a trickle charger? A regular charger should take 3 hours max. (If it’s like an optima or something requiring a slow charge)

i work at a battery store, for anyone confused about the 24 hour wait the battery has to be at 12.6v for it to give an accurate result on the test. customers will come in with batteries at 8 volts and think it'll take no time to charge but it takes forever for them to charge once they get below 10v. unfortunately it's the manufacturer warranty and if it doesn't meet those requirements they will not warranty it

When I worked at a dealership in order for us to warranty the battery we had to have a printout from the battery test machine like it's not uncommon

It's the same in IT. I will test the battery on a known good charger. If it charges, it's likely the charger is bad
