And the crazy part is it actually is white working class culture that’s the problem, ofcourse there r outliers including my parents, but in general it’s cool to be thick even more so for white working class boys specifically. For whatever my experience/opinion Is worth as a white working class woman, I’ve always understood that Immigrant families/parents who are children of immigrants tend to place a higher value on education and raise their children to not take it for granted considering either them or someone in their family at some point left their home so that they could have a better education and chance at work.
