CC is so much better than acotar and people who donโt want to read it are intimidated by learning 1000 new characters. I was too, but itโs so worth it. I do however agree that you shouldnโt need to read a different series to understand another one. But what a privilege it is to read another series in the same universe.

As someone who absolutely does not want to read CC but is going to for the cross over, I shouldnโt have to read a completely separate series with all new characters, a new world, and a new magic system to understand whatโs going to happen in another series. Itโs just bad planning on SJMs part. Some of us donโt like modern fantasy so we wonโt read it.

I just could not get into crescent city. Iโve tried twice and it just doesnโt hold my attention or interests me, and I canโt force myself to read a book that bores me. Everyone tells me it gets better after the first 100 pages, but Iโm not reading 100 pages that I donโt like sorry

Hot take: if itโs required to understand the next book then SJM is too focused on money and is not a good writer. She could definitely do it where there are little nuggets from the other book but itโs not essential. Thatโs what Iโm hoping for. (I have read all her books but I hate CC)

she should explain it a little bit(like what is relavent to the acotar world). it isn't bad to get people interested in another series but having to read another to understand one plot is ridiculous. also no one knows what the books is about yet
