@jakeclaverqfop: His dad set up a trust. It still didn't work. He paid an attorney, got it notarized, did everything you're told to do, then never actually moved a single asset into it. When he passed, the beneficiary designations and probate decided everything, not the trust. An empty trust is just paper. If you set one up, funding it is the part that actually matters.
