Unfortunately you became a patient, you can appeal the bill though through humanitarian grounds. Reach out to AHS and explain the situation they may waive or reduce the bill

I had paramedics come to my place for a medical event but I declined to go to the ER. I was so surprised when I received a bill! I also was even more surprised as someone who used to live in BC because why is it $250 to get checked out by paramedics when it’s only $80 for that AND the ambulance in BC

It’s both unfortunately. $250 to be assessed without transportation and $381 to be transported to hospital. It’s been like that for a very long time now (I used to work in EMS)

Gasp! This is crazy! Here in SK if you call an ambulance and you don’t go for a ride and just get checked out it’s free. You should never fear calling an ambulance because of the cost. 😭
