ok if i remember correctly: seth was basically the college equivalent of a super senior; renee, alison, and dan were all normal seniors; matt was a junior; kevin, aaron, andrew, and nicky were sophomores; and ofc neil was a freshman

Seth was the only 5th year all the others who were on the team with him dropped or got kicked out. Renee, Allison and Dan are all 4th year. Matt and Kevin are 3rd year. Andrew, Aaron and Nicky are 2nd year and Neil is the only 1st year cause he was replacing Janie Smalls, Wymack purposefully kept the team small cause of the backgrounds the team all comes from partly there's not a load of people with the background he's looking for and partly he knows how volatile they all are so keeping it small makes sense. Riko is also 3rd year and in aftg Jean is 3rd year and the summer events of The Sunshine Court and The Golden Raven he's about to start 4th year while Jeremy is about to start 5th year so is Laila and Cat is starting her 3rd year!

neil was a freshman (no other opening in the line besides striker sub), andrew, nicky, and aaron were sophmores. kevin and matt were juniors, dan, renee, and allison were seniors, and seth was a super senior (very very common for student athletes to do more than 4 years)

Lowk I think Kevin was a junior and Matt, Andrew, Aaron, and Nicky were all sophomores and seth was a 5th. Idk if the girls were juniors or seniors though bc in most of the fanfics they had another year

when Neil said at the start of the first book that Andrew was the foxes freshman goalkeeper then all of sudden he was a sophomore I was so confused bc I lowkey forgot that Neil joined the next school year 😔

neil was the only freshman i think bc of the recruiting requirements to be on the foxes and he was a replacement for the person before him. my best guess for the team being tiny is them being on the verge of shutting down/everyone needing a scholarship requirement/the personality issues on the team. they add a Lot more freshmen the next year though so id assume some of the hardships got lifted

they’re athletes, so they’re on a 5 year contract instead of 4 bc of credits and all that (hence why dan told neil he didn’t need to take a normal amount of classes because they have an extra year of time). pretty much they all graduate at 23. at the beginning of the series, neil was a freshman and 18-19, the twins were sophomores at 19-20, nicky was also a sophomore but the oldest at 23. matt and kevin were juniors and 20-21. all the girls were on the fourth year, but dan and allison were 21-22 and renee was 23-24 because she was behind a year. basically they’re all bound to be super seniors.

In case you ever read other college sport books. Most college athletes are on a 5-year track instead of 4 due to taking less classes especially during their season. Normally there would be 3-10 freshmens though the reason Neil was the only one was because Wymack probably only had one or two scholarships as a last rank D1 college team, and Neil was the only one Kevin and him wanted, it's vaguely implied they got 2-4 freshmen and it probably grew if they kept winning. TDLR: College athletics 5 years normally, scholarships based on schools recent placing, playing on barely enough players
