@jessicashealingjourney: Nobody warned me that after cancer treatment ends, you just get released back into the wild like a confused raccoon. One minute, my life was being managed by an entire oncology team, with appointments, labs, scans, nurses, doctors, side effect checks, and very specific instructions. Then suddenly everyone was like, “Okay, see you in three months.” Excuse me? Three months? I was just being monitored like a science experiment with anxiety, and now I’m supposed to go home and act normal? I was relieved, grateful, terrified, and completely unsure what to do with myself. Do I rest? Do I celebrate? Do I spiral? Do I start a garden? I had spent so long surviving one appointment at a time that when treatment ended, I was left standing there like, “So… who is in charge of me now?” Jessica's Healing Journey 💙 #throatcancer #headandneckcancer #lifeaftercancer #fucancer

As a fellow cancer survivor, I felt this deeply. During treatment, there's a team guiding every step. When it ends, the world expects you to just carry on, but healing doesn't stop with the last treatment. Recovery is physical, emotional, and mental. Be gentle with yourself—you've already come so far.

I think everyone with this type of cancer feels the same!! I was sent home after surgery from hospital with a packet of paracetamol. I had a week in hospital getting filled with all sorts of opiate drugs and then be sent home with a mild painkiller 😳. After radiotherapy stopped it was like being abandoned!!

im fortunate i guess as I am getting less warmth and engagement from a bunch of hospital people than I get renewing my drivers license. I won't have any trouble adapting to no support, no concern, no attention
