As the years passed, gradually the color began to return to my life. The guilt never left though, for continuing to live without him, for those brief moments where my grief wasn’t overwhelming me entirely. Would he be happy for me, or horrified at the fear of being forgotten, to learn how disposable he really was. I recall moments of tiredness at his antics, at his bullshit. I can’t express any of it to him now, maybe he wouldn’t have even listened. I still carry on with my twisted view of what *I* think he would’ve wanted, now with the extra weight of those unsure conclusions, the assumptions he might be silently protesting. From the moment he left his memory began to fade.
