i found one today and we couldnt put him in our house since we didnt know what to exactly do. He was in our backyard pond swimming, we took him out of the water and out him between some large rocks. He was badly injured. Did I do the right thing or too little?

Call a licensed wildlife rehabber.. you can use ahnow.org to find one close to your area. Cover the box and put it in a dark and quiet area with small holes in it and keep it away from people and pets. Do not offer food or water. Hopefully a rehabber gets back to you soon!

That’s a she. Do put her in a dark box in a quiet room away from pets, kids and noise. Then google “wildlife rehab” and your zip code and see who can accept her

He seems like a baby. Have you tried to see if he will walk again? Perhaps he’s learning from his parents on the ground. Unless his legs are injured for sure. Poor baby.

Maybe you could ask in a rescue center or a wildlife rescue Facebook group with rehabbers for the Bird?🙏 not all vets are trained to treat birds and some can only offer to euthanize because of that, but a rehabber can surely help/at least give advice!
