I actually did once fall asleep in train like FOR REAL (I usually wait till after the inspection to close my eyes). The inspector tapped me on the shoulder for almost 5 minutes (I hadn't slept all night, cuz of orienteering competition). And they seemed so disappointed when I just opened my phone to show my ticket🤭

Saw someone get fined once but they "lost" their way to pay, and the last station was in like 1 minute. Then they actually found it and paid the fine. I was amazed.

One time I was on a train in Italy and right as it became time to show my ticket my cell phone plan ran out of international data and I had to swap SIM cards while the guy waited and I feel like that was maybe the most difficult someone had ever been only to end up having a ticket
