I’m 41. Single. No kids. Never been married. Once was engaged and my fiance left me 1 week before we were to be wed. I was 25. I never recovered. Sure I had many relationships but never could recover I pushed a lot of good women away. I begged too many bad ones to stay. I’ve been single for years and I never believed in any of this anymore since then. No one on this earth had more reason to hate love. Two months ago I met the absolute love of my life. She has two small kids that have become my children, even in the short time I know. She’s the love of my life and I’m hers. Listen to me anyone reading this. Never give up. You can be careful. You can be mad and angry. But don’t spend the 16 years I spent hating myself and keeping my heart guarded. You will only miss the many opportunities that you could meet your soul mate. I wouldn’t have met her if I wouldn’t had let her in. You may not believe me. I know your heart is heavy. But your person is out there. Sometimes you have to be burned by fire. To be able to handle the flames of truly loving another person in all their flaws and imperfections. I’m so happy. I deserve it. You deserve it. “eat drink & be merry. For tomorrow we may all die”

I think I watched this like 10 times and held in tears because I thought I found my person and it wasn’t it . I’m now 30 and an unmarried woman and the pain is a little bit different when you’re alone . I thought I found my person and then it was a little bit too serious and he left . But in this world that is so cruel I learned to be alone and accept that pain quietly . I share it with my dog … and gosh it’s painful . I know that when my person finds me …. It will be so sweet and worth it .

My wife and I went through a lot. She was going through her immigration process in her country. I spent the week with her in her country. But when I left, the world went into lockdown due to Covid. 10 months separated, but our marriage became stronger. We celebrated our first year anniversary on a zoom call. We dressed to the nines, cooked each others favorite meal. We reunited in November in 2020. We’ve been married for 7 years now, she’s my blessing
