@mechaiq404: Surrounded by elk! 🥹✨🦌🌲 We were lucky enough to see a few Roosevelt Elk grazing near a neighborhood after our hikes near Cannon Beach, Oregon a few weeks ago! I couldn’t believe how calm they stayed and just watched the cars slowly roll by. Fun fact: Roosevelt Elk are the largest elk subspecies in North America! They prefer meadows or logged areas where sunlight helps vegetation (their food) grow, but they live in temperate rainforests and depend on heavy tree canopy for shelter during rain, cold, or heat. 🦌 Magnificent creatures like these prefer to be watched and photographed from afar. Bring your zoom lens or use that iPhone zoom and keep your distance. 📸 Please also make sure to slow down while driving, especially on these shorter days 🫶🏼 #oregon #pacificnorthwest #oregonstateparks | pnw | pacific northwest | coastal hike | where to go in oregon | ecola state park | cannon beach oregon | elk | roosevelt elk
