@cassondrachristman: We dolled up Miss Nina hoping it would help get her adopted or fostered. It didn’t work but she did get some very sweet compliments scratches and attention. People assume a dog who doesn’t get up to say hi just isn’t interested. But dogs like Nina have been getting up to greet people for months. After enough people walk away, they’re exhausted from hoping. And honestly we are lucky Nina hasn’t started to show outward signs of kennel stress. Nina’s potty trained, good in the house good when left alone. She's had many best friend dogs at the Humane Society that have all been adopted. But has never lived with them. She is very rambunctious when she plays with other big dogs who like her play style and does need monitoring since she hasn't learned to take a correction yet and will snap back. she knows sit and paw. She takes treats very gently. She loves her toys and flinging them up in the air and has been friendly with every person she's met. She's estimated to be about four. She does have a prey drive so should not be around small cats or small dogs or animals that are small and she can be strong on leash. Please come in and meet her. She's waiting at Maui Humane Society. If you are on Maui bring your dog to meet her. Adoptions to other Hawaiian islands are possible. Usually airlines charge about $500 around that price. Adoption team can get an estimate and coordinate the flight. Off Island adoptions to the mainland US are possible. usually the airlines charge around $1,000 for a dog her size maybe more depending on location. Canadian adoptions are possible, but you have to pick up Nina at the nearest US airport and take her back to Canada. since she will not get to meet the dogs in the home If it's an off Island adoption she should probably be the only pet.
