Since everybody is so allergic to research here’s what I found: Pavlova was invented by a famous ballerina named Anna Pavlova, who toured around countries including both Australia and New Zealand. Studies have found a book for how the name pavlova was originated that was published in 1927 that was in New Zealand. The second book for a pavlova was a recipe book which was published in 1935 in Australia. So in conclusion, New Zealand was the first to come up with the name of a Pavlova, but Australia was the first to actually create a recipe based on the name Pavlova. There you go 🫶

To all the people saying this is just “meringue” like yes, technically that’s the base. Then it’s turned into an entire different dessert by adding the toppings and what not. It’s like looking and a cheeseburger and saying that’s not a cheeseburger it’s beef.

Yeah Pavlova is an Aussie dessert New Zealand only says it’s a NZ thing cause we grew up on it a little like triffle and ambrosia🥰❤️. We make these desserts for an event or family reunion/function etc.

it is very sweet. we don't ever use canned cream, that's an abomination. fresh whipped cream,with a couple of drops of vanilla. berries or kiwi.
