Nax, the Raven :
Yeah I have an old Teneb that has the BGW order instead of the modern WBG order. It’s because back in the day the wedges had a pattern of going around the wheel and doing “start at a color, go 2, then go 1” where it was essentially the enemy duo + the next color in the wheel, whereas the current standard is “start at a color, go 2, go 2” which gives us a convenient “the middle color and its two enemies” to pair with the “middle color and its two allies” design of shards. So since the enemy duo order is Orzhov, Izzet, Golgari, Boros, and Simic, it used to be Orzhov + Red = Mardu, Izzet + Green = Temur, Golgari + White = Abzan, Boros + Blue = Jeskai, and Simic + Black = Sultai. Now it’s Orzhov + Green = Abzan, Izzet + White = Jeskai, Golgari + Blue = Simic, Boros + Black = Mardu, and Simic + Red = Temur. A change I think they made with OG Tarkir since that was the block centered around Wedges and each identity was “an allied pair and their common enemy” which fit the new pip order better. I personally find pip order design to be interesting as well even if the comments are hating.
