Idk why but I think that Donovan become a telepath through Anya’s mother. I have the feeling that when Anya’s mother was pregnant, they had already succeeded in making Donovan able to read minds (though he would obviously have a weakness, just like Anya), and then Anya was born later. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s the impression I get, especially considering that the only sane member of the Desmond family is Damian. I mentioned the Desmond family because Anya is one or two years younger than the others, so it’s possible that Melinda has a sort of love-hate relationship with Damian. When he was born, that may have been around the time she started believing that her husband was an “alien.” She obviously still loves her son, but her fear of her husband is just as strong, and since she can’t escape, she blames Damian in a way. And for obvious reasons, Demetrius probably learned to keep his mind completely blank all the time. I also think that if Donovan hasn’t done anything about Loid, it’s because by reading his mind (or by asking for the report about his daughter) he realized that Anya is Experiment 007, and the elderly neighbor basically confirmed it for him

HEAR ME OUT what if Donovan's power is related to controlling minds or related to something about past? because anya's power is read the people's mind in the PRESENT time, and the dog's (I forgot it's name but the one with the white fur) power is about future, seeing the future. so Donovan's power might be related to past or controlling minds
