it wasn't a campaign slogan, Mark Carney was already put Prime Minister when the Mike Myers commercial was filmed and aired. elbows up is specifically to trump's threats of annexation.... not a campaign slogan. Prime Minister Carney was sworn in on March 14, 2025. March 22, 2025 the elbows up commerical aired.

As a professional opposition person to most governments, people like this who throw empty slogans around and attempt to show insight and intellect by stating the obvious, are lacking in one thing: Solutions. Effective opposition isn't to keep naming what they see is wrong, it's to offer solutions to problems. Just as separatism in the case of Alberta... it's noisy negatively and a symptom. It's easier than working out problems, that would require communication and compromise. Zealots don't compromise. Empty slogans don't offer solutions.
