Replying to @2nd Mate Stubb Somehow we accept so many male characters as being selfish and flawed. And it’s never expected for them to change drastically. They’re allowed to stay selfish and self centered, that’s part of their charm, part of why they’re so successful. But when it comes to female characters, we immediately start saying “Oh no it’s bad to be selfish”. Only for women, being selfless becomes a criteria for even being alive. And our short indie animated film is changing that. It’s not about whether it’s good that Adena, our lady knight is selfish or not, it’s about whether she’s allowed to exist, allowed to have her story told just like any of those male characters.
