I don't buy it when people say it's purely discipline that makes them do hard things like working out.
Working out is completely optional. People who do it, do it because there is a result they want from it, ergo, they have a motivation to do it. Some people have more motivation than others and some people find the pain/discomfort of working out is worth the results for them.
I know it's a factor, I just don't think it's the biggest one
