why would you move if you remain in the same position? if I stand at the bottom of the stairs I remain at the bottom of the stairs. hint: the atmosphere turns with the earth. in order for what you're saying to happen you need to leave the atmosphere. pretty simple concept

You have no idea about physics at 10000 feet. Do you know on a global? Scale, how insignificant that distance is? It's basically still on the ground. You would need to go hundreds if not thousands of miles above the surface before you would feel the effect
