It still doesn't feel right to change a character's enthicity even if its to appreciate black people because either way, people are going to feel offended or some type of way so it wouldn't really change anything but repeat a cycle. Preferably, cosplays are better because its different and it applies for anyone. As an asian myself, I don't feel that impressed with seeing someone "racebending" an asian character. It's good art but the intention behind it can be misleading.

I feel like any kind of race bending is bad imo because it erasing the characyers race thats already there. like with one piece they have a good range and variety of different races and skin colors and I feel like changing that would just be erasing that race. I get wanting to feel including but you can make ocs or draw yourself as said character this is just my personal opinion if your opinion is different thats fine I personally just dont like any of the race bending unless its porr representation of the race like how genshin (?) is because I believe they are technically supposed to have a different raced character and its literally white

I’m tired of people comparing whitewashing and making white characters black, the difference is in the INTENT. One is motivated by racism and actively marginalizes a minority, the other is used to encourage diversity or may simply be a headcannon/GENUINE REDESIGN. It’s representation vs racism.
