Lena didn’t even think twice. “I’ll be there.” minutes later, Lena pulled into the parking lot. She immediately spotted the four women standing outside the restaurant. Aki and Chin were trying and failing to keep Miu standing. “There she is,” Z sighed She carefully wrapped one arm around Miu’s waist while placing Miu’s arm over her shoulder. she leaned almost all her weight onto Lena. “She’s heavier than she looks,” Lena muttered. “I heard that,” Miu murmured. “No, you didn’t.” “I did…” The girls laughed. She slowly guided Miu toward the passenger seat and helped her buckle in. There was no arguing with a drunk person. “I’m Nanny Mali,” the older woman introduced with a warm smile. “Lena.” She smiled kindly. “Miu talks about you these days.” “She does?” “Mostly about how Alora refuses to let you leave.” Lena laughed quietly. She gently tried freeing her hand. Miu instinctively tightened her grip. Another unsuccessful attempt Nothing Lena let out a defeated sigh Carefully, she sat on th space beside Miu. Every muscle in her body stayed stiff She kept a careful distance. Making sure there was space between them. Miu unconsciously turned. Slowly resting her head against Lena’s shoulder. asleep. unaware. Lena completely froze Her heartbeat became painfully loud The thought made guilt settle immediately inside her chest She didn’t move waiting for the moment she could quietly leave. But sometime between the sound of the rain the warmth of another person’s quiet breathing Lena’s eyes slowly grew heavy. For someone who struggled to sleep almost every night because her mind never stopped thinking Tonight Sleep came unexpectedly easy Lena fell asleep beside Miu. #lenamiu
