Cornflower slurry will make it thick - tablespoon or 2 of cornflower with water just to cover the cornflower cold or hot doesn’t matter stir the slurry up and add it in once it cooked

i don’t know if it’ll be the same as your mums if you do this but to thicken your sauce you can make a cornflour slurry which is equal parts of cornflour & cold liquid (you could try coke) and whisk that in & it’ll thicken up !!

Make a cornstarch slurry for the sauce! Equal parts cornstarch & COLD water (usually a tbsp) with each. Won’t mix into a slurry with hot liquid, works a treat our stirfrys etc

I make this in slow cooker/pressure cooker but I use 1amd half cup of coke, 1 chopped onion, 1c bbq sauce of choice throw all in the cooker and cook on low until cooked I want to give this way a go, onion soup would be tasty.

cornflour and a little cold water,make a slurry or whatever it's called lol right at the end of cooking will thickin it up . looks nice tho , good job muma ❤️
