I’ve always loved Kikyo even as a kid watching this for the first time I could never hate her even though my childish brain thought she was whack in the beginning. But maturing is realizing Kikyo was and never will be a villain, she had every reason to react the way she did. The anime played her out to be the villian for views and to create that tense love triangle between Inu, Kagome and her. But I’m happy that in the end her image was redeemed and she finally got the closure she deserved.

honestly kikyo deserved better.... she is always depicted as the villain but imagine how you'd feel waiting for your lover and he's moved onto a cheaper watered down version of you. Kagome isn't in the wrong either but neither is kikyo

I always wished that her and Kagome would switch lives, when kagome chooses to live in the feudal era for good- Kikiyo could then live in the modern era with Kagome's family, at school she cpuld pretend to be Kagome's cousin from the mountain side that doesnt know much about the modern world as her cover story. I always thought it would’ve been cool if the anime had adapted Kikyo to look more like Kagome at the end like in the manga, because I feel like people talk about her as if she was a grown woman when she and Kagome are literally same age. 😭💞

the discourse is silly to me, kikyo ALREADY loved inuyasha when he was half-demon. she wanted him to become human so they could be together, safe and away from the burden of the shikon pearl and inuyasha's half demon difficulties. she didn't wanted "to change him"
