honestly kikyo deserved better.... she is always depicted as the villain but imagine how you'd feel waiting for your lover and he's moved onto a cheaper watered down version of you. Kagome isn't in the wrong either but neither is kikyo

I think people confuse a revenge starved and resurrected shell that doesnt really have kikyos soul with the real kikyo. when she is brought back its against her will right after something traumatic and she doesnt get to keep her soul. pretty much all of it goes back to kagome. kikyo is left moving by an echo of remaining soul and spite. then later by stealing the souls of other humans. the real kikyo would have considered her reanimated self as terrible. it was all her most terrible parts. the real kikyo was more like kagome just more mature because of growing up in danger and with large amounts of responsibility. but she was kind and empathetic like kagome. you see several times that kikyo tries to live that way again after being brought back but she always fails because that life is no longer meant for her. I prefer inuyasha with kagome but kikyo wasn't evil and she was always one of my favorite characters.
