I’m Chinese. Most Chinese are not racist to black people. But many of them may never meet a black person for their entire life. So they may behave ignorant and curious about skin color or haircut style.

Neighbours were whuttt? I’m from Singapore I thought that shit died long ago. Asians are just curious, we aren’t hateful. The worse would be some old or young Asian wondering why are you there and maybe ignorance from the news. But they are harmless. Truly.

Couldn’t agree more. Chinese “racism” is rarely stemmed from hate, but from low exposure. Is it annoying? Yeah sure, but when you were born and raised in a country where racism is always malicious and you suddenly enter a country where the racism is just curiosity, it’s a huge weight off your shoulders that you never even knew you carried. All the dumb stereotypes that you grew up with don’t even exist over there. They don’t know anything about watermelon or fried chicken, because everyone loves watermelon and fried chicken in China, they don’t even think of it as a thing
