This is one of biggest pet peeves as a community pharmacist of many many years- saving money for a brand we can’t get hold of. So everyone has to do more work. What money is actually being saved?

Always a big yes to seeing medical students, my last admission I saw 10 in 1 day because I’m “medically complex” & you can currently see my small intestine moving on the outside of my abdomen due to hernia. The NHS has done so much for me if I can give back by speaking to students & letting them practice physical exams then happy to do so 😊 everyone needs to learn!

I’m a PCN pharmacy technician, and we DOUBLE HATE when the icb change something to a cost effective brand, cause then that goes out of stock and we spend the majority of our days issuing acutes of the original med.. it might save some pennies, but it costs more in everyone’s time 😫

As a pharmacist working in primary care, script switch is the most annoying thing ever because a patient will ask for their old brand as the new one causes issues, so we switch them back and leave a note, but a GP who doesn’t read ANY alerts will switch them back and then they have another appointment with me complaining to me like it was my fault….. 🤦♂️

I was put on aquipta (CGRP med) about 2 years ago and it has been life changing. Waiting for the day it’s made available in GP land because it would save so much admin time, referrals, consultant time and money by making it a front line treatment for chronic migraines.
