I like to soften mine with bleach or alcohol depending on the sponge but before every squeeze except my sponge soaks i will squeeze my sponge in hot water for 5-10 minutes before i actually make my videos or before i do a sponge squeeze! The hot water softens them up to an extent of course but my sponges that are already “broke in” good it just makes them so much easier to squeeze
