Hulk wouldn’t have lost that fight if the script stuck to true narrative about him.. With each wound or attack, Hulk’s Gamma would amplify as he got angrier, thus Thanos would be unable to maintain the assault as Hulk got stronger with his rage building at the same time. But they watered down the Hulk for the sake of the movie narrative.
