@chemistrysatisfaction: This looks like metal is growing… 😱 but it’s real chemistry. 🧪 A piece of iron is placed into a blue copper sulfate solution. After a short moment, a reddish-brown layer starts forming on the surface. That layer is real copper. Why does this happen? Iron is more reactive than copper, so it pushes copper ions out of the solution. Those copper ions turn into solid copper and deposit directly onto the iron surface. Simple version: Iron goes in → copper comes out. Fe + CuSO₄ → FeSO₄ + Cu This is a redox reaction - and one of those moments where real chemistry almost looks like magic.
